Frontier Motel on Route 66 in Truxton will be re-opened this spring
According to the information provided to us by the new Frontier motel manager at Truxton, the old Route 66 motel is currently undergoing a reconstruction. Refurbishment of the neon sign should be part of the reconstruction. Its services for Route 66 travellers will begin providing later this spring.
Motel was abandoned from 2015
The Frontier Motel was in a bad condition after closing in 2015. Allen and Stacy (Lynette) Greer suddenly ended up in the hotel that time. In January, the couple announced that they became the complex’s caretakers for a new owner Sam Murray, a Route 66 tour operator based in New Zealand. Murray purchased the motel and restaurant in November 2013.

In 2014, Sam Murray announced that he wants to reconstruct the nearby gas station. A new manager of this gas station has confirmed this intention again. According to our information, the reconstruction of the gas station on Route 66 should start later in 2018.
